Salary: $130,000+ (based on experience)
Hours: Full Time, Flexible
Lion CSG is seeking a Surveying Manager to join our growing team and step into a leadership role as our long-time PLS transitions toward retirement. This position is central to ensuring continuity, growth, and technical excellence in our surveying practice. A succession plan is in place with ample time to dovetail projects and transfer institutional knowledge.
We specialize in large-scale linear infrastructure projects, providing, property boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction stakeout, as-built surveys, as well preparation of easement exhibits and written property descriptions.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team consisting of one LSI, two field crews, and two CAD staff.
- Manage surveying efforts on large-scale linear infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate on fee proposals.
- Oversee technical accuracy across all survey deliverables.
- Serve as the primary PLS—coordinating project scope, schedules, and crew assignments.
- Review and approve topographic, right-of-way, and construction surveys to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Provide guidance and quality oversight to field crews and CAD staff, fostering technical development.
- Drive process improvements in field data collection, QA/QC procedures, and digital workflows (Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center).
- Partner closely with engineering staff to integrate survey deliverables seamlessly into project designs.
Requirements
- Active Missouri Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required. An active Illinois PLS is desirable or the ability to obtain.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, Robotic Total Stations, and digital field-to-finish workflows.
- Demonstrated success in leading project teams and managing client relationships.
- Strong ability to prepare and review technical documentation, legal descriptions, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Proven leadership and mentorship skills to support team development.
