Garrett Engineering is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our growing land-surveying department. This position will prepare accurate survey drawings and related documents using field data, research materials, and direction from a Professional Land Surveyor.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with technical information, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, subdivision plats, easement exhibits, construction-staking plans, and other survey drawings.
- Import, process, and organize survey field data.
- Prepare plats, legal-description exhibits, point files, surfaces, contours, and other survey deliverables.
- Review deeds, recorded plats, easements, title commitments, and other property records.
- Revise drawings based on internal quality-control reviews and client comments.
- Maintain organized electronic project files and supporting documentation.
- Follow Garrett Engineering’s drafting standards, file-management procedures, and quality-control processes.
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, field personnel, and project-support staff.
- Assist with tracking project status, deadlines, and outstanding information.
- Protect confidential client and project information.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D or comparable CAD software.
- Ability to interpret survey field data, deeds, plats, easements, and technical drawings.
- Working knowledge of surveying terminology and drafting practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments.
- Ability to work independently while following the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two or more years of survey-related CAD experience.
- Experience preparing boundary surveys, legal descriptions, ALTA/NSPS surveys, subdivision plats, and topographic surveys.
- Familiarity with Missouri surveying standards and recording requirements.
